Kindergarten Registration

Registration for children entering kindergarten in September, 2009 will be

held at each elementary school May 4th through May 8th from 9:15 - 11:15 AM

each day. Children who will turn 5 years old on or before September 1st are

eligible to register. Please note: no exceptions will be made. For more

information please call Mary Doyle's office at 729-6509.

Tolman/JMW Honor Society Car Wash

The National Honor Society at Tolman and JMW are hosting a car wash on April

11, 2009, from 10:00 am until 2:00 PM at the Papa Ginos Pizza Restaurant on

Newport Avenue. Come and get that old salt and sand cleaned off your car

from this long and hard winter while supporting our two schools.

Tolman Baseball Alumni Game

Calling all former Tolman Baseball Players. There will be the 1st Annual Alumni game for all past players on April 18th 6 pm @ Max Read Field. Any former players or coaches interested in playing/coaching should contact Theo Murray @ murrayt@psdri.net to reserve a spot.

Congratulations to Goff"s Junior Mock Trial Team

Congratulations to Goff"s Junior Mock Trial Team which competed and not only prevailed, but also earned some exceptional individual scores,  as the prosecution against St. Augustine's team last Thursday, March 26th, at the Licht Court Complex in Providence.  Way to go!  Good luck with your next case!

Congratulations to Jenks Media Specialist, Susan Baxter

Congratulations to Jenks Media Specialist, Susan Baxter, who won the Touchdowns for Technology contest sponsored by Kaspersky Lab.  The prize, based on the number of touchdowns scored by the Patriots during the 2009 season is seven brand new computers for the Jenks library!

Tolman: Fraud Alert

Someone using the name Jason has been contacting local businesses and individuals trying to solicit monetary donations. He claims that he represents various Tolman Athletic teams and the money will be used to purchase "terrible towels" such as those waived by Pittsburgh Steeler fans.

THIS INDIVIDUAL HAS NO CONNECTION WHATSOEVER TO TOLMAN HIGH SCHOOL OR IT'S ATHLETIC PROGRAMS. IF THIS PERSON CONTACTS YOU PLEASE NOTIFY THE PAWTUCKET POLICE DEPARTMENT.

Shea "Program of Studies Night"

Shea parents and 8th Grade Slater Parents are invited to "Program of Studies Night" in conjunction with the Friends of Shea meeting on Wednesday, 4/8 at 
6:00 at Shea. Come learn more about the courses your children may be taking next year, their individual learning plans, course audits and career pathways 
for after high school.  We hope to see you there!

Tolman High School Trimester Two Report Cards

Tolman High School trimester two report cards were issued on Monday, March 23rd. Please contact the guidance office at 729-6402 if you did not recieve one.  The report cards were sent home with the students and were to be signedby a parent and returned.

Fallon's International Project Night

Fallon Memorial School invites family and friends to attend International/Project Night on Wednesday, April 8, 2009 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.  Sample international foods, enjoy entertainment and view student projects.

Fallon's Pennies for Patients

Fallon Memorial School is proud to announce that we have raised $1,339.84 for Pennies for Patients! Our top two fundraising classes were Mrs. Pesaturo's 3rd grade class and Mrs. Patnaude's 4th grade class.  Thank you to Mrs. Chadwick who coordinated the fundraiser and to all members of the Fallon community for their generous donations to help children in the fight against cancer! 

Henry J. Winters Library received over 1,000 gently loved books

Henry J. Winters Library received over 1,000 gently loved books. Author studies were kept for the shelves and the rest were given to the children. We want to thank Nancy Deede from The Social Action Committee at Christ TheKing Church in Kingston, RI.  Mrs. Hughes our 3rd grade teacher arranged this fabulous event. SHE IS THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Curtis Elementary - Jump Rope For Heart

Curtis Elementary participated in it's first ever Jump Rope For Heart event and raised an amazing total of $4,442 for the American Heart Association. Students in grades 2 through 6 participated as part of the Physical Education program.  Mrs. Depot's class (grade 3) and Miss Burns's class (grade 5) were the top fundraising classes while Damon T. (grade 3) raised the most money individually.  Thanks to all the students, parents and teachers for a great  effort!

Winters - Pennies for Patients

Despite our trying financial times, Winters Elementary was again successful in raising over $2,000 for Pennies for Patients.  Our top two classes were Mrs. Sweeney's kindergarten and Mrs. Hand's fourth grade class.  Ms. Shaw's 6th grade class ran the program for the third year and have enjoyed collecting and counting money as well as encouraging our students.  Many friendships were formed between 6th graders and lower grades.

Wellness Subcommittee Meeting

Wellness Subcommittee Meeting on Thursday, March 26, 2009, 7am at Jenks Jr. High School, 350 Division St. in the Family & Consumer Science Lab. All interested persons welcome!
